Thursday 9:00 pm
We made it!! Forrest purred like a kitten the whole way up here! I think he likes his new transmission. Bonnie and Maggie are great - so fun. We grabbed a bite and jumped in the pool for a few minutes before it closed!
Plans for tomorrow -- Go check out the Senator, Hit the Zoo or the spy museum and Pick Hannah up!!

Vacation - Day 2

Chattanooga - Thursday July 23rd
I just heard from the mechanic - Forrest should be ready in an hour!!! Joshua and I tried to sleep in late but Caleb decided to call and wake us up. Thanks Dad! We strolled over to the free breakfast and managed to find coffee and bagels. There was a four year old complaining aout his breakfast - gosh I miss Caleb already!!
Skype worked great last night - we could see each other and talk as long as we wanted. If you haven't tried to Skype - you are missing out. I hope we can do that in DC as well.
After a dinner of "Momma's French Toast" at Cracker Barrel Josh still wanted a foot-long meatball sandwich from Subway last night. Oh to be 12 again!!
Joshua and I watched Spaceballs last night ($5 at Walmart). I forgot how stupidly funny that movie is - I think that is what we needed last night.
I'm packing up the computer and hopefully are on our way. We have to gas up the truck the mechanic let me borrow and get going. DC here we come!

Vacation ???
Wednesday - July 23rd
I have learned more about transmissions than I ever wanted to learn today. I have also learned that there are still good people in the world. Not bad things to learn in a few hours time.
Joshua and I are headed to DC to meet my sister and nieces. We made it all the way to Chattanooga when Forrest's transmission decided to die. With our trusty GPS and some guidance from God we found a little transmission shop that specializes in Chryslers who could help us out. The mechanic could not have been nicer to us. We have found a hotel room in Chattanooga and are hoping to be on our way tomorrow afternoon after Forrest gets a new transmission.
What a real vacation - TVs that you can't turn off without going through all the chanels , hotel swimming pools, and Cracker Barrels. It just wasn't the way I planned but I think I'm being told to slow down and enjoy the ride. I know I will once I get Forrest back. Drive Forrest Drive!!!
